# Nightly

Nightly builds are the newest SoundSwitch snapshots.

Use them only if you want the latest bleeding-edge changes, if you are helping translate the app and need a recent build, or if a developer asked you to test a specific fix.

Each nightly build lists the commits it contains and a SHA-512 checksum. The SoundSwitch updater verifies downloads against that checksum before installing them; if you download an installer manually, compare the SHA-512 value yourself before running it.

Nightly builds are **untested** and **unsigned**. Windows, your browser, or your antivirus may warn you before opening them. Only use these builds if you understand the risk and trust the source.

## Before You Install

* Expect rough edges, regressions, and incomplete features.
* Keep a stable release nearby in case you need to roll back.
* If a developer asked you to try a nightly, mention the version number when you report back.
