# Configuration

SoundSwitch's settings are organized into seven tabs. Open the settings by right-clicking the system tray icon and selecting **Settings**, or by double-clicking the tray icon.

* **[Playback](playback.md)** — Choose which audio output devices to cycle through and set the playback switch hotkey.
* **[Recording](recording.md)** — Choose which audio input devices to cycle through and set the recording switch and mute hotkeys.
* **[Profiles](../usage/profiles.md)** — Create profiles that automatically switch your audio devices based on hotkeys, applications, and other triggers.
* **[App Rules](../usage/app-rules.md)** — Route individual applications to specific audio devices without changing the system default.
* **[General](general.md)** — Control startup behavior, device cycling preferences, updates, language, and more.
* **[Notifications](notifications.md)** — Customize how SoundSwitch alerts you when devices change or your microphone is muted.
